Cooking has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember.  I enjoy cooking for family and friends and often go a bit overboard with it.   I will cook enough for 10 people even if I’m only cooking 3 people, if I’m cooking for 10, there will be enough for at least 20!  It’s a problem, I’m working on it!

Topics of discussion will involve my adventures in cooking and experimenting with new recipes.  One of my focuses is going to be attempting to cook delicious food that is low in calories and healthy. I will post nutritional content to some of the recipes- the info will be presented as accurately as possible.

My style of cooking is rather “freestyle” I tend to not measure things and just toss in what I think looks good.   Also, often times I find I am unprepared and missing an ingredient “that I swore I had” so I will omit it, or substitute something else that I think will work well. So if you’ve had something that I’ve made, and then make it from one of the recipes on here and it’s different that may be why.  Most recipes are posted as written and I don’t always know what I have done to “tweek” them.  Cooking isn’t always about going by the book anyways, go crazy, make some changes give up the measuring cups for a day! It will be fine!  Well ok, with baking, such as cakes and pastries there is a need to be a little more precise.  Honestly I don’t do a lot of pastries and cakes though, it’s not my strong point and they also don’t fit in with trying to eat a low calorie, healthy diet.  I will throw a dessert or two in here from time to time, but it’s more going to be about appetizers, salads, and main dishes.
